sex. and/or nipple stimulation. (can i say that on a family blog??) i’ve also heard good things about spicy food and walking. and all are much more pleasant than castor oil!
Meh, I think it’s probably OK. Sweet Pea’s probably going to refuse to read this blog on general “my parents are dorks” principle until she’s in her 30s anyway….
Interestingly, a recent study (reported on in Slate) suggests that sex in fact doesn’t trigger labor. Which isn’t to say it isn’t otherwise recommended.
I think my favorite home remedy came from a friend who’s past-due wife went into labor shortly after being pressured into drinking a high ball worth of raspberry schnapps at a Swiss restaurant in New York. Make it a gimlet and I think we might have some takers here in Casa Dwyer.
