Sarah’s EDD (Nov. 11) has come and gone, and Sweet Pea is still in utero. If anyone knows any non-awful folk methods of inducing labor (yeah, I’m talking about you, castor oil) we’d love to hear them.

Meh, I think it’s probably OK. Sweet Pea’s probably going to refuse to read this blog on general “my parents are dorks” principle until she’s in her 30s anyway….
Interestingly, a recent study (reported on in Slate) suggests that sex in fact doesn’t trigger labor. Which isn’t to say it isn’t otherwise recommended.
I think my favorite home remedy came from a friend who’s past-due wife went into labor shortly after being pressured into drinking a high ball worth of raspberry schnapps at a Swiss restaurant in New York. Make it a gimlet and I think we might have some takers here in Casa Dwyer.
