Sarah’s EDD (Nov. 11) has come and gone, and Sweet Pea is still in utero. If anyone knows any non-awful folk methods of inducing labor (yeah, I’m talking about you, castor oil) we’d love to hear them.

sex. and/or nipple stimulation. (can i say that on a family blog??) i’ve also heard good things about spicy food and walking. and all are much more pleasant than castor oil!
Meh, I think it’s probably OK. Sweet Pea’s probably going to refuse to read this blog on general “my parents are dorks” principle until she’s in her 30s anyway….
Interestingly, a recent study (reported on in Slate) suggests that sex in fact doesn’t trigger labor. Which isn’t to say it isn’t otherwise recommended.
I think my favorite home remedy came from a friend who’s past-due wife went into labor shortly after being pressured into drinking a high ball worth of raspberry schnapps at a Swiss restaurant in New York. Make it a gimlet and I think we might have some takers here in Casa Dwyer.
Rob, I think the Greens are bound to get a seat, but them getting more is the quieostn. I’m fairly sure May has a plan to get a few seats, and if our antiquated election system keeps them out of the House, it may be the push needed to get PR voting in place (in some form).
wow!!! Christina Carroll!!! I have been FB buds with your dad for a year or so, but never found you on there. I hope you & your mom & brother are all doing well.
